Extremely important to not pass judgment on those you might find yourself trying to de-escalate
Personal space is subjective, depending on personal preferences, culture, etc. Creating the right amount of personal space can also help keep you safer during those times of de-escalating individuals who might be alrtered or otherwise elevated.
Keep your cool and maintain a consistent tone and posture. Sometimes individuals will try and test you to lose your cool. Spot the pitfalls and sidestep them to drive yourself to success.
Don't promise things you can't deliver. Set your limits up front to better connect with success in the long run.
People love options. If you can de-escalate using different options working through the communication with another individual, more times than not youre going to be successful.
Make sure to focus on the other individual's feelings. They can help lead you to the root issue. Once that is identified you have a much better road to success.
